Who is Parallel? Parallel is New Hampshire’s own Greg A.!

This month, we connected with Greg – another wonderful member of the Parallel Universe.

Greg! Tell us about yourself:

I live in Nashua, New Hampshire [Ed. Note: some of you may recognize Nashua as “NashVegas.”]. I am single and an outdoor enthusiast.  I have been a runner since college and combined with skiing, hiking, golfing, photography, and some other pursuits, I stay very busy.  I plan to retire soon from my work in commercial bus sales to travel more.

Are you an avid hiker in “real life”?

Living in NH affords me the ability to do a lot of hiking in the White Mountains. I am also a Scoutmaster, and I enjoy mentoring youth in outdoor skills, developing leadership, and self-confidence in an outdoor environment. I have led my scout troop on adventure trips to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Boundary Waters and Rocky Mountains.

What Parallel trips have you been on?

Ireland’s West Coast – September 2025

Have you been on a trip similar to Parallel’s before? How was Parallel different?

I had not done anything like this before. What stands out was the entire trip–people, our facilitator, Miles, accommodations, food and of course, Guinness on draft! It exceeded my expectations.

Why did you choose to travel with Parallel?

A friend and his wife recommended the trip, and I was looking for something a bit chill and to go at my own pace without being tethered to the group all the time.

Favorite memory or two from your Parallel trip(s)?

Great conversations while hiking and apres hiking along with the countryside views.  As an avid photographer, there was plenty of inspiration.

Greg making that photographic magic happen – at the bottom of this post you will find a sampling of Greg’s photography

Do you have a most memorable meal from your trip?

Funny you should ask! When I heard we were all having Thai food one night–I was thinking I came to  Ireland for Thai…?  A fantastic authentic home-cooked meal in the middle of the remote Black Valley that I will never forget!!

Be honest – how difficult did you find the trip(s)?

To be honest, I did not find the hiking difficult at all. The pace allowed me to “slow down” for a change and not hammer out long distances in a short time. That opened my eyes a bit more 🙂

How would you describe the Parallel vibe to someone who’s never heard of it?

A well-organized, self-paced trip. You don’t need to worry about logistics and the opportunity to meet new people and have a lot of fun along the way.
